What is the CREG tariff for your home charging point?
CREG, the federal regulator for Belgium's electricity and gas market, sets the reference tariff that companies use to reimburse home charging of an electric company car. This tariff applies specifically to charging at your own charging point at home, not to charging at public or fast-charging stations.
The tariff is recalculated every quarter and differs by region, because energy prices and the network tariffs set by grid operators vary between Flanders, Brussels and Wallonia. An employee with a charging point in Flanders is therefore reimbursed a different amount per kWh than a colleague in Wallonia, even if they charge during the same period.
Important to know: the CREG tariff is completely independent of the energy contract you personally have with your own supplier. CREG bases it on an average market price per region, not on your personal bill, so the reimbursement is objective and the same for everyone in the same region.
Your employer uses this official tariff to turn your charging sessions at the charging point into a correct, tax-free reimbursement. Check the current CREG tariff per region and quarter to see what applies to your situation.

Calculating your charging costs for a company electric vehicle works in three steps using the official CREG rates:
- Choose your distribution region (Flanders, Brussels or Wallonia).
- Paste your charging data (date and kWh per session) into the input field.
- The calculator multiplies your kWh consumption by the CREG rate for that quarter.
The result is your maximum tax-free reimbursement per month, which you can export as a PDF for your employer.
CREG rates vary by region in Belgium:
- Vlaanderen: €0.3225 per kWh
- Brussel: €0.3688 per kWh
- Wallonië: €0.3779 per kWh
These rates apply for quarter Q4 2026 and are updated every quarter by CREG.
